Curious too. I HATED Time’s Arrow, which still makes me angry 20 years after I read it. But I’ve considered giving Money a try.

Only read one of his dad’s books (Lucky Jim, of course), and I liked that one quite a bit.

I’ve never finished one of Amis’s books, while enjoying parts of them for his famous aerobatic stunt show sentences. I felt immediately sad on reading of his passing, and surprisingly pleased to find out he’d long ago made up with his old friend Julian Barnes. He said a bunch of stupid stuff, recanted much of it, and I’m idiotically disquieted that he’s still not out there, infuriating away.

Have only read him intermittently since Yellow Dog, but consider myself an admirer, and didn't know he'd died till I opened this thread.

His going so soon after Andy Rourke is a bastard...

Every time he opened his mouth publicly he seemed absolutely awful: a witless, reactionary, and charmless posh boy. And yet his friends' recollections (some of whom I respect) make him sound like a genuinely lovely person. Weird.

I enjoyed London Fields, Dead Babies and even Rachel Papers. Started Other People but lost interest. Never bothered since.

Not terribly familiar with his personal life or dumb comments but sorry to hear he passed.

I'm American btw, if we're counting.
