He basically addresses that in the video. They had it wrong on the reissues from several years back.

Appears to be sold out now. Apparently they only made 700 in this first run. Probably should have grabbed one earlier.

I almost grabbed one, but I decided against it for a multitude of reasons (not where I am as a guitarist now, I get to develop gear for myself, ego, finances, etc)

The other thing is that I'm just kind of a salty bastard about the shoegaze popularity and economy after spending YEARS making and promoting that kind of music 20-30 years ago and being mercilessly mocked by peers for even being into that kind of music. It's petty, I know, and I also feel a bit smug as well. The whole thing makes me feel silly. It's a complex, emotional, human response and too boring to discuss more.

Love the aesthetics, though.

My favorite part of the video is when he said the reissue was incorrect:) Neat Fender.

I'm sure this pedal is super cool and fun, but there's something about a $500 pedal with too many knobs and switches that makes a deeply fucked up guitar sound which was originally achieved by experimenting with cheap/fucked up/unpopular equipment that is both unsurprising and uninspiring.

I thought it sounded like any 'ol fuzz with the gain dime'd and a half-drained battery.

The price is too high. But no-one has to buy one if they'd rather buy 5 $100 pedals or an amp or a bulk assortment of electronics from a CL seller.

Hey, I said it was probably cool! It looks great. And, obviously, no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. I'm just saying that $500 for a guitar pedal from a major manufacturer is really expensive and there are lots of other ways to make your guitar sound blown out and wobbly.

I think we're all in agreement here on a few points
1.) The Price Is Too Damn High
2.) The Filp/Resale Value Will Almost Certainly Still Go Up From There (although at the already high starting point, it'll be interesting to see how much)
3.) Fender's Track Record for Build Quality on Pedals is Poor
4.) There Are A Lot of Knobs (good or bad)
5.) Kevin Sheilds Made Amazing Music That Is Still Influential And Relevant

How much $ do you think FM KS is getting per pedal? $100? More?
