I would assume they're paying him to license his likeness etc rather than getting a percentage of sales.
Also, popular opinion/rumour to be in agreement that there's a production version coming in the fall without the case candy/signature etc.

I can see them doing it in a conventional box rather than the throwback enclosures (which must have been pretty spendy all things considered).

I don't know, if you're going to spend the NRE (non-recoverable expense) on tooling up a new enclosure, you'd probably want to make as many as you can to amortize that expense.

You did say that. I thought you were just really hating the knobs and switches. There are, but that video does sound awfully good. And to get a reissue that isn't a mess like their previous reissues would be cool.

Props to Garth's summary. Also wondering how much Shields is getting, but he probably deserves it. Then again, his studio looks nice, so I wonder about how much money his family had to start with, and who's helped/how has he managed his money all this time.

Not hating! It's just a little over the top. Is somebody gonna do something really novel with THIS pedal and in 40 years we'll get THEIR signature version with 8 foot switches and 16 knobs? Also I can't help but think that a mere 7 years ago I bought a fully serviced silverface Pro Reverb in a store for the same price as this pedal.

My work put out a new guitar, it's at CME apparently. I didn't do any of the work on it. I appreciate and respect the opinion of everyone on this forum and I know many live in Chicago - if you're there for some reason and want to give it a spin and let me know your thoughts, I'd love it.

Interesting. It made me think of Tone Lounge guitars, which were the brainchild of Brian Swerdfeger (an ex-taylor and L6 guy). This one looks mich more hand crafted, though. Hopefully one might end up at January NAMM... if anyone goes back

Ah yes he was there before me - also at fender, but I think he's out there - small world this industry is. The designer is a vintage Bigsby fan so he was going for that vive.
Definitely a lot of hand work, and machined parts at our shop - I don't know if any of it is shopped out, maybe the tuners. Some of the colors I dig more than others

That pickguard seems so dainty.

This feature sounds very interesting:

Since pitch-shifting tails notoriously go out of tune, Andy Powers engineered his own ingenious “camshaft” tailpiece—which he’s dubbed the “CamTail”—with string ramps individually compensated for tension and gauge. So, when you dive on the CamTail Tremolo on a Powers Electric A-Type guitar, the strings move in pitch unison relative to each other—getting sonically closer to the way lap and pedal steel guitarists move a chord and maintain relative pitch.

That Saffron Yellow Metallic looks amazing, to boot.

I've gotten two of the Origin Effects all-analog preamp pedals recently.

I got the Super Vintage fake SVT to run into this little solid state bass head that I have, and I think it sounds pretty swell. It captures both the upper-end "ting" and the midrange grunt of the Ampeg tone stack, which are the first two things to go away when I try to use a SS amplifier.

It's good enough that I decided to get the Deluxe 61 and try it on guitar/baritone. It's also quite good--imbues things with the black panel Fender sound and crucially does about as good a job on the Fender tremolo as you could expect.

Their pedals are not cheap, but I like what I've heard from them so far.
