I try not to be a transactional kinda person, but in this instance I feel I'm owed that.
I do feel you should be acknowledged however, I think the salute is reserved for other motorized 2-wheelers only. I always appreciate a flashed light when heading towards a speed-trap. I also got an airhorn salute from an 18wheeler for getting roadhead. I don't think we realized that they see everything from their cab.

I used to frequent an actual vinyl record bar in Gangnam pre-pandemic that has since closed.

Am at yet another “vinyl record” bar today in Gangnam that is basically just a dude on a computer taking requests to play music videos through an okay sound system. Aside from a bunch of what I assume are empty album jackets on the wall, there are no actual signs that vinyl records have been played here.

This is like the eighth place I’ve tried since that first one closed, to no avail.

I miss that old bar.

I just discovered that a Paul Westerberg cover of "These Days" -- written by Jackson Browne, famously performed by Nico -- exists, on the album Come Feel Me Tremble. It is terrible and you should not, repeat not, listen to it. He really just murders it. Painful. No disrespect intended. I did not enjoy it. (If it helps: I liked the Replacements quite a bit.)

I'm not concerned with use of the salute, though, just the acknowledgement, however they do it. Most use the salute though. It makes sense because in a way we are looking out for them.

Kinda thinking the airhorn was intended to salute the person ministrating upon you.
