While not rechargeable, I did wire something up.VaticanShotglass wrote: Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:44 pm 3) Ben Adrian mentioned battery power. We had an old tread on this but it may be vaporized. Is anyone successfully rocking a pedalboard with a single (or a couple) rechargeable power bank(s) as opposed to individual batteries? If so, what’s your setup?
My Cartographer/Zach Dracula pedal board is tuner (0mA draw when not on), noise gate (maybe 20-30mA, and KWB (6-10mA).
I have the pedals on a board with a simple daisy chain power supply cable. At rehearsals, I plug in a regular wall wart to the DC input. Live, I just hook up a single 9v battery. I wired up a power cable that take the 9v connectors and feed it to the same 5.5/2.1 barrel plug that regular power supplies use.
I can get away with this for about 10 hours of play time, maybe a bit more. Of course, this would just take a quick shit if I tried to run digital effects off of it, or a larger pedal board. It's a fun, funny, and easy solution for my rather pedestrian pedal set up.
There were a couple companies making rechargeable power banks with 9v out. Pedal, train, for instance. I can't seem to find any in production. I think Mission Engineering and maybe some other companies make a 5v to 9v DC/DC converter. Then you can use a USB power bank and power guitar pedals. I've neer used one.
