Pretty cool!
Seems quick and easy but is it not a thing where you might want to tune batter and resonant heads to different tensions? You couldnt do that with this.
this is spot-on so yeah, this isn't for everyone. That being said, just looking at them, it's not hard to draw a mental image of a newer "tweak head" version that has same mechanisms but doubled & separating w/ top/bottom. Those cables could be directed to overlap.

This reminds me a lot of the "boa" stuff I see on a lot of cycling and snowboarding gear these days. My helmets have this, boots, cycling clip-in shoes, etc etc and I absolutely LOVE it on those apps although I am dreading if it gets snarled in some way...although have had some of these items several years now w/ them seeing abusive conditions by me and no issues yet.

I think my only concern is that it seems like for this to work properly & consistently that the hoops and shells would most likely need to be close to perfectly round, perfectly flat throughout the life-cycle. So while they might be great out-of-the-box, I would worry a bit that this would not have the same longevity that my 60-year-old Ludwigs have had.

If you need to change pitch of your drums mid set though, there's an even easier way to do this though just having those "BFD" flaps that go over you can very quickly pitch downward. IDK, feels really fussy though and guitar guys tuning mid set is annoying enough, you want to add drums to this? IDK, I do frequently find myself having to re-tune if I'm playing a set longer than 20 minutes or so though so...maybe this would be a good fit for me.

Since this uses a pulley system, I could see this being retrofitted on other drums with only drilling out where the tuning key goes.

See I would buy this if I could afford it. Intresting concept.
