I missed Garth’s reply - I have one I can try but can’t really swing for another right now. I might regret not having another handy once I start mixing this stuff.

I almost got one of these pre-2020 gear craze but couldn’t swing it at the time and still think about it

Right, it’s all swells. When you’re playing don’t really ever put your vol pedal on the full toe down position so sometimes w/ sloppy right foot technique you can blow past the mark a little bit and get these awful peaks through a big Fender amp. Not a big deal playing in the room but you don’t want that in the recording.

It’s a thing that’s hard to explain but easier to show.
Oh ok, I guess I was mistakenly thinking it was like, pick attack that was the offending loud part.

I just did that now for my RME UCXII, and doing so made me realize that I do this quite a bit.
As a designer, I find it terribly irritating when a manufacturer does not include a high-res picture of the back of a piece of gear on the product webpage.

It may be a bit old school, but my first concern isn't the UI, the SaaS, cloud hosted services, or use of AWS. I want to see a picture of the guzzintos and guzzouttas. That's my first step in evaluating the suitability of a piece of gear for an application.

Not music gear, but I something all the time when I have to hook up computers or especially wall mounted tvs. I just cram my phone back there and snap pictures with the flashlight on.

Hmmm. So my little practice amp sounds off lately.

Solid state Pathfinder 15R. I really like how this thing usually sounds. Almost always play it low volume from minimum volume to rarely above the volume of a loud TV.

Lately it has an odd, unpleasant flutter sound that sort of rides under the primary sound. This is mostly audible only when the gain/overdrive is dialed up. But this fluttery distortion just doesn’t sound like the distortion I’m used to (and like) which typically gradually increases with the gain knob. This sounds like something else on top of that. Kinda has an odd decay to it sometimes. It’s more obvious with bass content like with power chords. I can’t really turn it up loud right now to hear the cleans hold up at volume, but they aren’t as affected at really low levels.

I’m thinking speaker is fucked up somehow? I hadn’t played it for a few months as I’m out of town a lot these days. Not sure what could have caused the issue. Maybe the circuit is acting up. Kind and f a bummer since the amp isn’t worth enough to throw money at but I do like it.

Maybe I can make a recording some time when work slackens up.

I have two racks full of gear and every time I have to reroute something I grab my flashlight and cry like a fundamentalist child caught with a pie getting shoved into a closet to pray.

In other words I find your confession to be an innovation not a source of shame.
