THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE PUTTING CHEESE IN APPLE PIE???
I hate the world now.
Might be ok. Fruit + cheese in a dessert works fine in cheesecake.kokorodoko wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 4:53 pm THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE PUTTING CHEESE IN APPLE PIE???

That's old school Yankee cuisine, like Kerouac in a diner. Sharp cheddar and an apple have a certain complimentary thing. Think of some Spanish tapas/charcuterie, those flavors collide on a good cheese board.jfv wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:18 pmMight be ok. Looks like I’m not going to be taking a break from watching cable news this evening.
It's usually Velveeta on a shitty store bought pie that is like 90% syrup and 10% apple, so let's not get carried away with the gastronomical superlatives. It's usually fucking disgusting. That said, the concept of jam on cheese and bread (or with kødboller) should not be foreign concept to a Swede.losthighway wrote: Mon Aug 14, 2023 10:08 pmThat's old school Yankee cuisine, like Kerouac in a diner. And burritos can be bought in the frozen section of your local grocery store. Anything is bad in its lowest common denominator.zorg wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 3:11 am

Sure, but that's a whole different thing.zorg wrote: Tue Aug 15, 2023 3:11 amThat said, the concept of jam on cheese and bread ... should not be foreign concept to a Swede.
