I don't know who this is, she had a song in some Disney movie, whatever. But the latest single got some insane hate-following on twitter, specifically the screaming part (around the 2 minute mark).
Is this cool or lame? I think it's fun.

3I was hoping for more of a death metal growl. But people get riled up about a singer having fun? sheesh

4This is fine and fun. Also I’m much too old and out of touch (and white, and male) to criticize even if it weren’t my thing.
It’s nice that a pop star like Ms Rodrigo doesn’t feel the need to project a highly curated image 24/7.

5Same. Was hoping for the first blast beat in a Disney film.penningtron wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 7:38 am I was hoping for more of a death metal growl. But people get riled up about a singer having fun? sheesh
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
7Disappointed it wasn't a band with this name you all were talking about here. Scream, Disneyula, scream.

8I remember the "discourse" a few years ago over Phoebe Bridgers smashing a guitar on SNL, like oh it's so contrived and she's just this little pop singer, this move should be reserved for Troo Rokkers like Pete Townsend & Vinnie Vincent. Anyone who is worked up over this is a boomer (boomer being a state of mind, not an age).penningtron wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 7:38 am I was hoping for more of a death metal growl. 9no, this is the first blast beat in a Disney film
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
10It's a bad song and a bad scream, like I don't feel like she means it.
