Don't know if it was directed at me, or I was lumped into "pissed-off neckbeard" but I'm not pissed nor do I have a beard. I just think it sucks, whatever her intent (WRT the song and scream). Maybe she was joking around, still sucks. It's like people are afraid to critique art from children. Why should they be immune? Most art made by kids sucks, even the art your kids make...especially the art your kids make!ChudFusk wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2023 5:23 pm The whole thing is fake poop: the music, the vocals, and the controversy. On the bright side I’m sure it’s pissed off some neckbeards so yeah. But that doesn’t exactly improve society.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
22Not a child, not even a teenager. 20 years old. Though can’t fault you for thinking this is childish.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
23Fair, but 20 year-olds in 2023 are not the same as they were 50+ years ago, when "childhood" was a thing to outgrow, not revel in.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
24Who the hell wants to 'critique' this 'art'? It's pop music you'd play for your niece or whatever, except maybe not cuz she drops F bombs. On the other hand, fuck it, the kids are probably cussing already so go nuts.
Is it any better that 19 yr old Robert Plant singing about working for the man from 7 to 11 everyday. This didn't seem too out of whack age-wise, considering she was a teen performer.enframed wrote: Fair, but 20 year-olds in 2023 are not the same as they were 50+ years ago, when "childhood" was a thing to outgrow, not revel in.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
25This is exactly the sort of thing my nine year old would like, and that's fine. They all look like itty bitty babies. Hopefully it inspires more kids to play in bands.
It's not a very good scream though; she needs to listen to some B-52s to hear it done right.

26Did they have 7-11 back in those days? And did Plant make taquitos?penningtron wrote: Tue Sep 12, 2023 2:31 pm Who the hell wants to 'critique' this 'art'? We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.
Re: The Olivia Rodrigo Scream
27Not crap because it’s hilarious. Intentionally or not, who cares. Song is obviously crap though (edit: musically. I didn't listen to the lyrics).

30It was not directed at you, and I have no problem with critiquing this baby food.enframed wrote: Tue Sep 12, 2023 1:39 pmDon't know if it was directed at me, or I was lumped into "pissed-off neckbeard" but I'm not pissed nor do I have a beard.
