1542eesh! did you relocate or end it? I'd be tempted to squish. What if there are more?

1543Nah, I let 'em be. There are usually about three here, though rarely as big as this.rsmurphy wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 5:32 pmeesh! did you relocate or end it? I'd be tempted to squish. What if there are more?

1544I do the same. It's a whole ecosystem you need to keep in balance.kokorodoko wrote: Thu Sep 14, 2023 5:59 pmNah, I let 'em be. The tiny spiders eat the dust mites (that's a good thing).
The bigger spiders at the smaller spiders, sliverfish and fruit flies.
The centipedes eat the big spiders (and ants).
The centipedes are the apex predators of the household ecosystem - despite what the cat and dog might assume.

1545Well I think the ecosystem of my house will be fine either way. Just don't wanna mess with creatures if I don't need to.
They're here today again, chilling in a corner.
This dude is likely an Eratigena atrica, or Giant house spider (high quality pic, with measure).

Re: Little Details from Your Day
1546I’m pretty ok with spiders in my house. If they can find a place to camp out and get a meal, then I’d rather have the spiders than whatever they’re eating.

Re: Little Details from Your Day
1550Australia has giant cockroaches and spiders kill those (example). Even less reason. Although there's also a 101% chance the spider would be very venomous, so you have a point.
