They're okay. Inconsistent discography.
I like Soulside more.

12No I still think CSC is better.OrthodoxEaster wrote: Sun Sep 17, 2023 5:43 pmMaybe a little bit similar to declawed major label-era Cop Shoot Cop? Two basses and a handsome, raspy vocalist, I'll give you that.kokorodoko wrote:that band which isn't Cop Shoot Cop but which I discovered simultaneously with them and which sounds the same synaesthetically to me.
But my God, early CSC—Headkick Facsimile, Piece Man, Consumer Revolt, and White Noise—grinds these ex-emocore fashion boys to pulp. It's so much grimier and more meanspirited. At least that's my memory. Did I miss something?

13Not a lot of similarities between those two bands, except for the 2 basses thing.
CSC were probably "better"; more adventurous and aggresive BUT they didn't have Ted Niceley to produce them. Those GvsB records sound so awesome.
Martin Bisi did a good job for CSC though.

14They aiight-lookin' but they ain't no Matt Gentling. Good lord.
Recently saw GVSB with FACS and before that it was T&G 25. They were good both times but I rarely find myself reaching for a rekkid.

15Listening to Cruise Yourself for the first time in like 25 years. Sounds good to me, pretty solid Afghan-Whigs-lame-shirt genre this was, nothing mindblowing. I like it.
Re: Girls Against Boys
16Saw them on their reunion tour and really dug their show. A band I come back to may be once a year. Still dig it. Love how they borrowed that Can bass riff for Bulletproof Cupid.

17How many cigarettes did this guy have to smoke to get his voice to sound like that?
Re: Girls Against Boys
18Venus Luxure remains tremendous. The next two Touch & Go records are hit or miss, very high highs, VERY low lows.
used to love them, now I only go back every so often but one thing that always stands out is how fantastic the drums sound on those records. love the way he plays, love the way he sounds.
not crap.
