If we’ve got a Beato thread going we should have a Finnerty jawn.
I think What Makes This Song Stink is hilarious and is best watched from the beginning and in order as it has an overarching narrative and plenty of subtle call-backs that make for a very rewarding watch. He’s self aware and transparent about, you know, YouTubing - and he documents his journey into the YouTube personality hole. He clearly knows his theory as well (Beato!) and creates hilarious songs and mashups to prove just how much the songs he covers really stink. We’ve got such stinkers as Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, Hey Soul Sister by Train, multiple Lenny Kravitz songs battling eachother, among many others. Plus he does a good job representing Philly. Check it out.

3His latest LIttle Stinker, which was supposed to be a short form version of WMTSS, is longer than that first episode of the latter, which are now pushing 45-50 minutes. Like all those Breadtubers whose video essays started out that long and are now hitting feature-length.Pnoom wrote: Wed Dec 21, 2022 3:56 am If we’ve got a Beato thread going we should have a Finnerty jawn.

4I saw his Weezer video a (long) while ago and thought it was fine but nothing I was paying attention to. Checked out his stuff again when this thread popped up and am now a fan. His podcast is good. His videos are funny. His fake band is perfectly awful. Good stuff!

5Very, very good, I was in tears of laughter at the analysis of the solo in that fuckin Kid Rock song. Can’t wait to watch more. Perfect mix of music nerdery, cynicism and humour, reminds me of Rational Funk in that regard.

8Definitely NC. Funny guy.
I don't always agree with what he thinks is good (early Weezer, Dr. Dog) but I'm glad he's doing what he does.

9Some of their videos are too long, in the sense that too much time passes btween "jokes".. but a lot of those jokes are hilarious
