When Covid hit and everybody freaked out and had thoughts like, the world is going to end and I never got to see Paris, I had those thoughts too. But I also thought I am never going to make my “Wire” record or my “Fall” record, or my “Aphex Twin” record or my “Stevie Wonder” record. Now I know I am no where near the artist those people are but I can try…

So that is what this is, this is me making shamelessly making art influenced by other artists who’s work I enjoy. So if you are listening to this and think this sounds like Chrome, yeah it does that, is what I am doing. That is the point. Yes, I should send Helios a royalty check… But so should you. Everyone is a rip off artist it’s the who and the how that really matters. Sometimes in the rip you find something new, sometimes you don’t.

I sat on a lot of these recordings for a while, I wasn’t sure they what people would think of them. I could hear the critic “this is derivative of_____” and yes that is valid. But does that make it any less valid art? I don’t know the answer to the question. And the more I think about it, I don’t care. I have an “Art of Noise” record to make.
So this is me going on a musical journey, and I going to take a bunch of people I love with me. I am going to try to do as much I can myself, but I have to be honest I there are things I am just not good at. I am a horrible bass player (I am getting better) and an even worse visual artist (there is no hope them hills I will ever be good art visual art). There are also parts of being in a band I hate, so I am just not going to do those or I will pay someone else to do those. In other words don’t expect this project to act like a normal band, because it is not. This is my vanity project, it is the musical equivalent of me singing in to my tooth brush and dancing around in my PJs pretending to be Joan Jett.

So get in the car, lets crank “I love Rock and Roll” and by the way “Which way is Paris?”
