You're into a different 80s vibe than me. "Like a Prayer" is my Madonna tune. The .38 Special song was neat.

Top 5 most ridiculous things that happened at work this week:

1. A fruity boomer insisting that he doesn’t have to adhere to park rules because he is a “mystic”

2. A family pulls up to the entrance booth. A child opens the back door and vomits two feet away from where I’m stationed

3. The district manager gets upset with me for leaving thirty minutes early and not paging him about it, even though I informed him in person that I was leaving a little early

4. Overtime missing from my paycheck

5. Had to call EMS for a heat exhaustion case. At the end of September.

Diversity is the main reason a lot of mainstream early 80's songs stand the test of time. Even the early pop metal hits varied in vibes. Today I can't tell Dua from Doja from Demi to Charli or Halsey. Say what one will about Quarterflash but at least they didn't sound like the Fixx who didn't sound like Prince who didn't sound like Michael Jackson and so on and so forth.

My favorite Janet songs were released in the 90s but most of Control and Rhythm Nation are jimmy jams. And you should hear Marc Almond's gorgeous brass & woodwind-centric cover of "Like a Prayer." So good.

Top 5 80s Rousing Metal Jams

1. Helloween - Eagle Fly Free
2. Judas Priest - United
3. TnT - Seven Seas
4. Black Sabbath - Wishing Well
5. Iron Maiden - The Prisoner
