Perhaps if the Ottoman Turks had backed the right horse in WWI, we'd have an entire region still controlled by a sprawling caliphate, keeping the local tribes and nomadic Arabs with 'royal' claims in-check? Would they also be NATO members? Weeiird!

Yes, that would have been clearly far preferable with just a cursory review of events in the region since then, fully discounting the fucking up of many other continents as well in parallel. If you don’t think Nato is an Instrument for inflicting further misery by a comittee of the same merrymakers, we’ll agree to disagree.

Yeah, there surely would never have been oil discovered in those lands if this nonsensical thought exercise could come true. Why, if the US-centered multinationals never had to take over the work of those British, Dutch and Belgian colonial empires, surely everything would have turned out just fine.

Fantasies serve nothing except sad lonely quests for dopamine.

I have plenty of doom-and-gloom thoughts, but this seems like an overreaction.. unless you are talking about metropolitan areas in and around Israel.
I'm in the States. Everyone everywhere needs to start thinking about this. And acting on it.

British colonialism has been horrendous, but you seem to be giving consecutive US govts a free ride here.
