Here in the real world, these kinds of skirmishes will probably flare up, diminish, and continue ad infinitum until:

a. People see through the "great Satans" that their leaders create for them to ensure perpetual conflict, and, more importantly,
b. War stops being a profitable way for the upper classes to destroy resources that would otherwise go towards improving the lives of their citizens

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Also, I don't know what the b/tard troll on my ignore list is saying outside of y'all quoting them, but I am also very confident I don't care.

Watching the news tonight was harrowing stuff. The IDF was keen to take the press around the sites of the massacres. It looked like an American suburb in the aftermath of a typical mass homocide, but on a larger than normal scale. Chilling to see something like this happen in a nice neighbourhood. We saw Biden and Bibi both saying that Israel has the absolute right to do completely whatever now, seriously just go nuts, Geneva Conventions be damned.

And although all the words of the news reporters were written with a strong slant towards Israel in the standard way, they ended with a report from Gaza, and the contrast with those scenes in Israel... thousands upon thousands of people who looked poor as shit, crowded onto the streets of a city that had been bombed out to a husk, just cement and rubble. And wonder how they can even survive in this place, it looks like Hell on Earth on a good day.

Of things the world could hope to get out of me, it's safe to say that my take on Israel-Palestine--at any point in time--is gonna be low priority. This is a quagmire, probably now more than ever. I'm not even that convinced that many people in the professional pundit class, or armchair quarterback poli-sci types, fully have a bead on it.

I do know that any party that knowingly targets civilians won't be getting my sympathies. The "ends justify the means" rationale usually doesn't wear well. This could be terrorism, sanctions, full-scale wars, whatever. It's ugly stuff the likes of which most people who might read this have never been party to.

New Novel.

Condemning Hamas is easy since they are literally terrorists. Condemning Israeli war crimes has always come reluctantly or not at all. And with blanket veto protection from any UN sanction courtesy of the United States. I don't think the ends justify the means; I think shit causes shit.

But I wonder if any Republicans out there might pause to think, "I support Trump. Trump supports Russia. Russia supports Iran. Iran supports Hamas. Therefore... I guess Joe Biden is to blame". Definitely you want the guy who keeps top-secret military documents in the fucking bathroom of his country club back in charge of national security. Yeah, Trump blabbed our military secrets to Russian officials who are directly allied with the people who carried out this attack, so what? Tucker Carlson wants Russia to win in Ukraine. Does Tucker Carlson want Hamas to win in Israel?

You mean to tell me that a $3.00 Big Mac isn't literal slavery? I am shocked! Shocked, I say!
