MIRACULOUSLY, both packages were shipped to Toronto so the worst case is that I get a car share and go pick it up from the other person.

The seller was like, "the other person should be pretty accommodating - they *really* want those smurfs."

Tempted to take some hostage photos but perhaps that is mean spirited.
Managed to do the swap this am without being stabbed or kidnapped or roped into some kind of wire transfer fraud.

The seller refunded the cost of my car share to pick it up, so in the end it was less hassle than going to a fedex depot.

We run our own sound, often in really live rooms, with instruments miced with little omni lavs. My hope is this will be faster and more accurate than screwing around with an old 31 band EQ, and the real-time monitoring, if it works, would be great to have.
You might look into a used Dugan Auto Mixer. They are fantastic at keeping lots of open mics from freaking out. Couldn't do my job without them... well I could but it would suck.
These are interesting. I imagine the primary audience for this stuff are folks managing panel discussions. We don’t really “take turns”; it’s more of a performing ensemble. Not that something like this wouldn’t have a use. I’m still gonna do the DBX across the outputs, but the automixer, provided it can be set to keep everything open, when warranted, is an interesting way to go. Thanks.

They work as channel inserts and kinda work like super fast transparent gates with a "shared" max output. It's kinda complicated to describe. you still get individule channels of audio, they just kinda reference each other for "mic open" priority. The Dugan variety of the execution is extremely good and is built into Yamaha Digital Mixers now. Allen and Heath also have a version that is built into their QU series of boards and above, which is good, but not Dugan good. The hardware boxes are around $500 for a used 8 CH box I think. They can be linked for more channels.

Looking forward to a rat's nest winter project.

I remember reading the review of this Snazzy FX Wow and Flutter delay in Tape Op when it came out over 10 years ago, and here I am, finally buying one on a lark. Why? Somebody posted a picture on Instagram with a purple pedal in the background. I was trying to figure out what it was - literally googling “purple” “guitar” “pedal” and somehow ended up at this demo vid? This pedal isn’t even purple, but its the one I just bought.

Not really ever into demos but even listening on my phone speaker I imagined using it for twangy Sergio Leone stuff melting into Twin Peaks neon and thought maybe I could do something with it.
I don’t know what happened but this thing was so noisy I applied for a return when I first plugged it in. Hopefully it’s a one off but I won’t be around to find out
