Re: Interesting Gear Developments Thread
384I think a desirable tone master unit from Fender would just be a little modeler that nails various staple Fender amp sounds with good reverb and tremolo. Like real simple. Other companies make boxes like that with fender sounds. Having the brand name clout and distribution would probably sell well, though it would kinda make their new tone master combo amps sorta unnecessary.jirbling rake wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2023 8:08 pm Fender's Tone Master Pro could be interesting

386I think it is fine when companies clone stuff that isn't being made anymore like that Ampex style box they make but this is Behringer style rip off land. It would be cool if they just cloned RCA and Gates comps and stuff like that that isn't getable.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 8:55 am Warm Audio is making their version of a Tube Tech compressor now.

"In terms of its internal composition, the WA-1B proudly features a 260V circuit and 100% discrete analog signal path. The compressor also incorporates custom large-core transformers from Lundahl Sweden and high-powered vacuum tubes sourced from JJ and Tung-Sol"
At least seemingly using decent stuff - but the overall get is lame (unless they're in some kind of licensing deal)
Re: Interesting Gear Developments Thread
388Yeah for sure. But sort of to that point, I’m most concerned about sinking $1200 into something that becomes a pain in the ass if something goes wrong.
Warm stuff makes sense for a few hundred bucks, I just don’t know enough about what’s going on under the hood or where corners are being cut for more than that.

Re: Interesting Gear Developments Thread
389From everything I've seen the internal build quality at Warm is good to great, I just would rather see them clone cool random shit rather than something in current production. Gimme a Warm Audio space echo or like, a WA BX20 Spring reverb, or a Level Lock... all the cool shit people already want but isn't available on the new market. I have their API mic pre and it doesn't bother me since every other mic pre in the world is basically based on one of 3 or 4 pre designs, but cloning something special and using the same trade dress is pretty lame.TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Oct 19, 2023 11:34 am
