Painkiller is parody territory. Can't do the screechy vocals. Big nope.

There's something very wonky about how the consensus classic album for many big early metal bands is often kinda mediocre. Like many (I suspect) I went into British Steel, Number of the Beast, Ace of Spades, 1987 etc knowing a hit song, and expecting a blinder and being turned off band until checking out less hyped material.

Thank god I'd picked up Master of Reality before Paranoid.

Never had that problem going through the punk classix 101.
