I second this approach. Furniture Dolly with a lashing strap. You can also lay on the dolly and roll around the stage for sick solos.Krev wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 11:16 am I keep my Gibson GA35 combo on an HF furniture dolly. I don't want to drill that one out.

122 excellent points. Nothing more frustrating than that wheel you forget about falling out.Nate Dort wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 9:38 am pop out casters always seem to lose tension and drop a caster when you don't expect it.
Machine screws with t nuts inside or big fender washers and nyloc nuts. Wood screws just end up pulling out as soon as you hit some bumpy pavement.
And for the latter point I have had this happen with handles that were screwed in vs bolts. Was hefting a heavy 4x12 cabinet and the handle in my right hand literally ripped right out. It might be worth checking some of your amps & cabinets to see how they're mounted, especially they are particularly heavy and/or if your cabs are made with some version of MDF

13I have much better luck with using a dolly to cart big amps around. It might sound like a pain but it probably stores and transports much easier than you might think

14Yeah I’ve used a foldable sack truck for the last I don’t know how many years, but it does the job great, folds down pretty small too. This one:

15I've had some casters in a box for like 25 years and I was able to find them! Put them on yesterday. Couldn't be happier.

17Pretty sure my shop vac has the same casters: incapable of rolling and remaining upright.
Re: Casters on a 2x12 combo
18Silkworm took a dolly on tour once we started traveling in a 15-pass van and had room.
Granted we had a Mesa 2x15 and two 4x12 half-stacks (later one 2x4x12 full stack) and big ole drums, not just a 2x12. But it was worth it.
More than one band made fun of it but ended up asking to use it after a few shows.

20Go for it. My old Fender Super Twin had casters and I cannot imagine it without them.
