True. The drumming desn't... groove.
By Cleansing and ESPECIALLY Rude Awakening they had really moved away from their thrash / crossover roots and were taking the Killing Joke / PIL drumming style w/ C standard minimal riffing - sorta USA take on heavy metal disco that that industrial-tinged nu metal stuff (Static X, Rob Zombie solo) would ride on later.

Will agree the drum sounds on Beg to Differ and Prove You Wrong are pretty misjudged.

There's a great remaster of that record on the Let Sleeping Corpses Lie box set that rights a few early 90s Andy Wallace-isms wrongs.
Might give it a try.

That record always sounded kinda muffled, lacklustre. But it has good songs.

Some Andy Wallace work is fine; Apart from the well known mixing stuff, I think he recorded, produced and mixed Chaos AD. Also King for a day.

Machine Head's debut was cool back in the day. Davidian still slays.

Well...

There isn't really much of a point without that "Sexorcisto..." lineup.

The three of them chugging is all you really need. If anything, RZ is just getting in their way.

Yes, that became clear when I clicked w/ WZ.

RZ may have been crucial to the marketing / aesthetics but musically he's totally superfluous. Esp live when he's outta breath 2 songs into the set.
