^ I think what gets me about these songs is there's a layer of melancholy following them around. Even when they're super-super happy it's like a happy that emerges from sadness. It's like they express a kind of joy, appreciation, aspiration, in a very naive (sincere and simple, innocent) way, but then there's also something cracked there.

I cannot get into that Lewsberg record AT ALL, and pretty much everyone I know loves it and was raving about their recent US tour. I guess one person’s practiced minimalism is another person’s tossed together in five minute boring jangle.

I’ll likely still give it another chance at some point since lots of folks who’s taste I respect love it!
