There was never anything wrong with the OG P-Bass design, imo. Not worth fussing over the alternatives.
Awesome. I've only ever had a PBass and I've never, ever thought about the bridge - that checks out thanks!

All I know is the turn of the century Mexican jazz bass bridge was kind of shitty. The action used to gradually slip down from the hex screws actually unwinding in the vibration. The Badass bridge was a nice upgrade.

But if yours ain't broke et al....

I usually buy the Fender High Mass bridge for all Fender replacements. Its very close to the Badass2. Brass. heavy. almost the same thing and it is like a third the cost.

Does anyone else have trouble with the Squier Vintage Modified Bass VI low E (next to the A) having a flabby tone and feel?

I replaced the bridge with a Staytrem, but it didn't change the feel. String swap is next, but that gets expensive. Thinking flats or maybe stringjoys.

Are there other issues that could be causing this?

Yup, that's a common issue with them, especially if you're still using the strings that it came with. Unless you have a qualm with flatwounds, get some of these La Bella Flats, and then you probably won't have to worry about it again: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... -flatwound

Keep in mind though, a Bass VI isn't like a P-bass--it's more strings (albeit of a smaller gauge) over smaller fretboard real estate (scale and width), without as much tension. This can result is some notes not resonating as much, if at all (especially toward the end of the fret board, on the low strings). That's even after you've got the right strings, and the nut and bridge saddles are adjusted.

The tradeoff is that it's cool, and you can still do neat stuff with it. It's just not the Swiss army knife of low end.

totally. you've got it. You've probably already done it.

Awesome, thanks. Yeah I've swapped 'em on strats/teles in the past but the number of controls on my T-60 was kind of intimidating me. I'll give it a shot!
Should be easy. If there are hiccups, everyone here will be able to help.

Depending on the source of the new pick guard you might not have all the screw holes might not line up. Report back if this is the case. I ran into that with a few recent [cheap-O)))] swaps. There’s an easy solution with a cooking skewer and superglue.
Awesome, I really appreciate that. I ordered one earlier this week, hopefully I'll have it in the next few days... if I have any issues I'll be sure to report back before I mess it up too bad haha.

Do we have any Auralex experts here?

A friend gifted us a bunch of acoustic foam that came off a set/installation.
Some of it came in Auralex boxes and I'm fairly certain these 24"x24" pieces are bona fide Auralex fancy stuff.
Can anyone tell by looking?

There's also a bunch of 12"x12" adhesive-backed pyramid foam tiles that are darker black and hand-labeled "Amazon Sound Squares" on the box they came in.
I'm assuming these are the cheaper no-name kind of product.

I'm thinking about selling the Auralex on eBay or Craigslist but I don't want to counterfeit anybody.
Is there any way to tell, besides lighting them on fire?

side by side I could maybe tell. The amazon stuff is a lot less dense and feels more squishy to the touch. Auralex is a tighter looking sponge than the Amazon stuff I've seen. I have also not seen 2'x2' squares of amazon foam... just 1x1
