Had the pleasure of seeing her perform it live last week, in somewhat busier arrangements with more sub-surface detail, but still very slow-burn, eschewing crescendos, big build-ups or really dense moments while remaining captivating.

What do you think of her latest one, Sounds While Waiting? I like it but I've only listened to it on bandcamp. I think I need to pick up the record to play it on a loud system to get the full effect.

Breaking Benjamin - The Diary of Jane

Yesterday I looked up what bands there are from Wales because I was interested. Budgie are from Wales, I was informed, and Budgie are not crap. Listened to a song by Super Furry Animals, it sounded like the archetype of the music I hate the most. Sat with a number of songs from the first three Manic Street Preachers albums. Surprised at first, I had pegged them as typical British sadboy rock and then they come at me with "Slash n' Burn". I'm replaying that one. It's a good song! Good lyrics too. The singer seems to have very sloppy phrasing generally but in this song this makes it sound right. Unfortunately they already start their slide into sadboy territory on the first album and many songs just bored me. By the time of The Holy Bible (supposedly the best one) they are firmly settled. Crap with waffles.

Anyway, I also listened to one song by Lostprophets, who are also from Wales, and who suck. I'm thinking it might be responsible for feeding me the topical song.

Otherwise the culprit could be Bullet for My Valentine. Also from Wales, also suck.

Ha, I listened to it on headphones, as not recommended, and it was not particularly compelling that way, though I just had it on in the background while working. Probably pretty cool loud, moving through the air for real though.
