Has anyone A/B'd the new C414's with the LED indicating the polar pattern versus the older one? Wondering if the new/newer versions sound the same/as good as older versions.

The older EBs (with the C12 capsule) are the best of the models they've made. The transformerless ones are alright, super plain. The new X models are not worth the money really. And they feel funny in your hands. On a budget, I'd hit ebay for the TLs - don't spend more than $600.

I Know that the new akg are made in cina and in korea... and nott, in austria. I tink that the new akg 414 aren't ma big microphone.
