Your most common typos

I almost pathologically write “but” instead of “by” and always forget to negative words like can and do.

Before edit buttons this got me in trouble

I have to type a LOT for work (used to write code, but now write a lot of reports) and I don't have a good idea which words I type incorrectly the most. I would LOVE to see statistics on that, though, if it were possible to keep track somehow.

While not exactly answering the question, I still have not been able to figure out how to spell "privilege" and only hope to not butcher it so much that spell-check is actually able to catch it.

Thought of one:

When typing in an unbookmarked URL too quickly, missing the "c" in "com" because the right hand is typing too fast for the left hand to catch up, leading to me typing in an address such as "facebook.om".

I suspect there are many ill-intentioned requests for Oman internet domains.

That's not a typo, just a borken word.

Same. First and only thing that came to mind for this thread.

Always type 'payslip' as paysilp, and quite often 'walk' as wlak. This is on my laptop, and is down to me thinking I'm some superhot master of the keys.

On my phone? Hundreds. And autocorrect makes things worse. Changes the correct hell to he'll (my fault; laziness) and is now changing correct 'if's to 'of's (and vice versa). This is maddening, especially when it lets me type Thirsday without changing it, or even suggesting 'Thirsty'. Drives me crazy. I could give a hundred examples, but as I'm typing this on my phone I'm already getting annoyed.

Once, while watching an episode of Lingo, I texted my brother 'Another sextet of shitheads' and my phone changed it to Another secret of whiteheads

+1

Wife gets mad when she uses my phone because she's so used to autocorrect. I'd rather leave the typo in than risk having autocorrect change the meaning of what I typed.
