Re: Dirty... IMO it's an enjoyable enough rock album because they are uber talented ("Purr" is a jam) but on some level I think the band realized this was the wrong direction for them. Lee almost left the band over that album. Signing to Geffen then getting Nirvana to tag along as their little brothers, and then seeing what that did to Kurt, I think affected them. They were back to releasing a 20 min noise jam in 1995 and they never looked back. Usually I'm more of a Purr-ist than a purist but there are unique aspects to this few years of rock history
