Yes.

In the tremolo oscillator circuit there are three caps in series between the plate and the grid of the oscillator tube. Their values are 0.02uf, 0.01uf, and another 0.01uf. Replace either or both of the 0.01uf caps with a 0.02uf of the same voltage value. Just doing one will slow it down a bit, and doing both with slow it a bit more.

Of course, by doing this you'll be minimizing the maximum speed. However, if you're looking for slow, I don't think you'll miss the fastest setting.

I have new caps already. The issue is you can't apply the new ones without removing the remaining aluminum around the edge, because they will not fit. I imagine it involves some kind of acetone and a lot of dicking around with pliers to not damage the speaker, or the guy I bought the cabinet from would have replaced them already.

Sorry I was thinking instead of exact fit and try to remove all the old stuff, you would trim back as much of the old dust cap as possible and then put the new ones around and OVER the old ones just slightly larger than the exact fit & just outside that center ring. Assuming the old cap remnants aren't buzzing or something should be fine.

This is how they fit when I have done recones for other speakers in the past anyway. Hopefully that description makes sense. Like if that center ring's diameter is 2", then get a 3" dust cap and skip the rest. It might attenuate the speaker slightly but I doubt it.

I got phase issues when combining a compressed DI bass track with two in phase amp tracks… even after compensating for the DI’s phase? Is this a thing I hadn’t noticed before?

(By phase issues, I mean just like you might expect - the pretty good DI signal and pretty good amp signals sounded a little worse when combined in the middle of the stereo field.)

I zoomed in on the three tracks and the compressed di signal was holding on to the peaks while the amp tracks were dipping.

The compressor on the di wasn’t working very hard at all, it was just going 2-3 db here and there.

Do ppl usually eq/compress the summed tracks/buss instead of using outboard on individual elements and combining them afterwards?

I usually do something to the DI so that it sounds like a CCR record and then mix it with amp tracks, and while I’ve always had to fiddle with the sounds to get them to fit together, I feel like I noticed something different this time.

This shit can get really fiddly. Some things you might have already tried: choose the waveform with the highest peak to zoom in on. Better yet if it's a muffled string noise or something that's more of a transient than an extended wiggle.

Another rabbit hole is the flipping the polarity on the DI and seeing if you can get a better match.

There is a plugin called auto align by Melda that is good at fixing weird issues like this. I use it for inside outside kicks sometimes.

Hey guys, I got Fabfilter twin2 as part of a package. I know nothing about synths but I'd love to be able to hook a keyboard (the piano keys one, not the typewriter keys one) up to it and record with it. Any recommendations for a relatively cheap keyboard option? I'm using pro tools and an old motu DAW. This is how it works, right? I don't even know that much. Any help would be appreciated.
