Not to sound egocentric, but I understand the basic concept of phase, have mic'd drumsets, amps, acoustic instruments, and love hearing others impessions of various micing techniques, equipment choices, etc. as well as replying to the kids in Indiana or something about what a 'mic preamp' is.......

Occasionally an opinion on where the world stands is an interesting topic, but mostly I come to this RECORDING STUDIO MESSAGE BOARD because I am interested in recording.

Not quite. I've obviously made this too complex for you so let me try again.

What my (as opposed to I'm) saying is, if you are using someone's picture in a way that they haven't approved of and they ask you to stop, you have two options: comply with their wishes, or be regarded as a piece of donkey shit. Walter has clearly chosen the latter, as I've seen - on this very board no less - Rachael ask him repeatedly to take her visage out of his avatar and he reacts as though he has some right to keep using it against her wishes. He does not, hence I have determined that he is a piece of donkey shit. If you think Walter should have the right to keep using her picture against her wishes, you too are a piece of donkey shit.

The case of using someone else's likeness without their knowledge should most likely be approached on a case-by-case basis. There are too many possibilities to come up with a sensible singular policy. All I was addressing is the case where person A uses person B's picture, and person B asks them to stop.

no i'm just used to more substantive conversation on this board than most others. it is like a safe haven from childishness.

I was all set to agree with you - possibly even to quit the board myself, in a small effort to return it to its idyllic non-chlidish state - but then I read this.

Perhaps it would be more useful if you just clarified what kinds of childishness you're willing to accept on the board, so we have guidelines to stick to?
