Verbinski or Nakata, The Ring is dumb and not scary.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a chore to get through in one sitting. I've never done it.
Haute Tension est merde
Guillermo del Toro bores me (kinda interested in Frankenstein remake somewhat)
The Autopsy of Jane Doe is shit
I would be happy with never seeing Nic Cage in another horror movie. He sucks in them.
Wolf Creek is crap
Friday the 13th...whatever
Child's Play
The Black Phone...don't answer
The Babadookie
Scream...don't care
Pinhead looks silly. Least terrifying least sexy cenobite.

Agree with this.
But not with this. I slept with the light on for two nights after watching. Never happens.
Interesting target. He get’s progressively worse, and I don’t think I’ve even seen his big hit Buena Vista Social Cllub, but shit like Alice in the Cities, Paris, TX, and American Friend are great films in my estimation. I like that first angel movie tooA_Man_Who_Tries wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 5:58 am The oeuvre of Wim Wenders. Come on now, straight to the bin with you.
I thought both were just really cool. They both seem like fairly well realized examples of the spooky fun that mainstream horror can be with a subtle twist.kokorodoko wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:54 amAgree with this.

Martyrs is a fine and extreme movie, but I'd steer far away from the American remake.Gramsci wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 5:20 am
Martyrs?
Looks so fucking grim, I’ve never had the guts to watch.

My main issue with The Babadook, which I readily admit is my own stupid hangup, is the whole is this haunting really happening or is it only in my head with it ultimately being in the protagonist's head. That kid was also super annoying. The shrill sound of a child screaming makes me want to shake them like an etch-a-sketch There were some creepy elements though! Just over hyped.losthighway wrote:They both seem like fairly well realized examples of the spooky fun that mainstream horror can be with a subtle twist.
Welp, I guess I don't need to watch The Babadook now. A spoiler alert would have been appropriate...rsmurphy wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:07 amMy main issue with The Babadook, which I readily admit is my own stupid hangup, is the whole is this haunting really happening or is it only in my head with it ultimately being in the protagonist's head.
No spoiler given imo.ChudFusk wrote: Sun Jan 14, 2024 1:53 pmWelp, I guess I don't need to watch The Babadook now.
