I wonder how much cocaine one would need to do before one thought "Hey this place is pretty cool?"

All of it I guess....

The nouveau riche have been rightfully derided for millenia. Chavs with money are still chavs. The American dream is a sickness.
Hahaha, do you remember the chav-towns website??? They were good times : )

Found and listened to an old reel-to-reel tape (1972?) of my Dad’s first band Noisy Majority rehearsing.. playing goodies like “Happiness” from You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, “One Tin Soldier”, and.. “Froggy Went a Courtin’’” (unfortunately NOT the Pecos Pest version).

Had to message my Mom to hear the backstory.. I had never knew of this first band of his.

When thinking about how I would handle being placed in some other time period the main difficulty is not lack of amenities, I think you can adjust to that very quickly. Rather it's random small details of everyday life. Like the Romans sharing a butt-wiping sponge in public lavatories. Just plain gnarly. I could never get used to that.

I guess I could just decide not to go while I'm outside. I'm sure there were a few people like that, whom the rest thought very silly. Maybe I would find a few people like that, hopefully including an engineer or an architect, and together we would revolutionize Roman toilet-going.
