I bet it sounds like a brown Fender but darker and cleaner. At least that’s what my Troubadour sounds like. I bet this head is pretty cool. Price was great.

My band has two old Magnatone Lyrics in the house...Justin has one and it is great and I ended up buying the one he heard that made him buy his. Mine, turns out, has been super heavily modded into what is basically a 1x12" Fender Super. Both of them are great amps.

Seriously, though, Nate--thanks for posting it. Certainly would never have found out about it otherwise. Will advise on results.

My old landlord had a Lyric 2x12 combo that 'stopped working a couple years ago', I opened it up and found unsoldered connections that had worked for 60 years.

Only soldered those and everything else was perfect - that amp had the smoothest thickest clean tone I had ever heard. I'm Magnajonesing now.

Here's what appears to be a homemade TL606 loaded with a FaitalPro 15PR400 neo speaker for $160. Those speakers are like $340 new.

I already have a homemade TL606 with an Eminence Gamma 15A which sounds OK, but this might be a lighter-weight upgrayedd for me.
