You might also check out the new Keeley Noble Screamer that integrates the TS and Nobels ODR into a single pedal where you can swap the tone contyrols and/or the clipping of each. (I think the ODR1 is a better bass pedal).

Neither of these are cheap, but more akin to the Voyager in price.

I wonder if the Series 3 Screamer was based off of the Moonshine? Josh Scott stated the Series 3 is based off the mods he did on Tube Screamers that got him started in the pedal business. Assuming that's what the Moonshine is and the Series 3 is the printed board version. (He seemed to be inspired by EQ doing low cost pedals like Plumes. I had one briefly, wasn't my cup of tea.)

Yeah.. so many bass players seem to like the TS thing it makes a lot of sense.

The Plumes on the middle switch setting (no clipping diode) already sounds really good on bass though..

I struggle with the idea of getting a bass-specific OD. I've never used one, only guitar ones. You can always make up any frequency loss after the pedal, if it matters. I used a Klon on my bass for years, it was an always on pedal.

Ha I just mean the naming. There's a bazillion TS variants under the sun, and quite a few made for bass. But the simple silliness of going "uhhhh...how about BLUMES?" for the bass version is hilarious and i'm here for it.

You can use bass pedals on guitar. Lots of low tuned dudes do. Your amp adjustment workaround doesn’t work super great if you play both clean and with the pedal, foot switching between the two.

I used the Fulltone Bass drive. Unsure if that's the same thing. I had a Dark Glass Microtubes for minimal distortion with some Fake Limbs tunes, but I became rather fond of using a Super Hardon for a boost instead.

Correction on the Klon, sometimes I would turn it off, I didn't notice much of a difference if any on low-frequency loss. Funny story, Bob Weston gave me his Klon KTR to check out. Bill Finnegan gave him one and said it was for bass. I didn't see any difference between his and the one I had. At the time, I was working for Reverb, so I had one of the electrical engineers who did repairs there take a look at it. It was just a regular Klon KTR. Maybe it's the circuit style of the Klon or the KTR, but it worked equally good on bass as it did on guitar. At any rate, the Zeus sounds great on bass just like the KTR did.

It is. Fulltone’s Fulldrive was a modded Tube Screamer. The Bassdrive was the bass version of the Fulldrive with a couple of tweaked caps/resistors.
