Interesting, because I eventually sold it because it was too muddy for my taste at the time. It didn't have a good midrange, which is sad for a TS.

Not very sexy but I just replaced my old Mackie 1202 from the 90s with a new 1202 VLZ4. I use it for some routing in my home recording setup and as a little mixer for some performance electronics with the band. It has some useful routing options the old one didn't, like aux sends that can be pre-fader, as well as an interesting mut button that doubles as an aux 3/4 enable. I think it sounds a little better than the old one, but the bottleneck in my listening area is more with my amp.

Anyway, nice enough, cheap, really heavy.

Ha I just mean the naming. There's a bazillion TS variants under the sun, and quite a few made for bass. But the simple silliness of going "uhhhh...how about BLUMES?" for the bass version is hilarious and i'm here for it.

Pair of 2 channel amps with Hypex UcD400's. They have Marchand XM44 embedded crossovers. I'll probably bypass the crossovers and just use them as full range stereo amps. Oh, and they were $100 each shipped. I'll unload a QSC and buy myself something cool and still be up.

I have a long suffering Keeley signed Rat I got from some guy that I haven't been able to unseat. My bass setup is the complete opposite of guitar in that I never change anything and it always sounds great, but I just don't care about figuring out what the mods on this pedal are if I don't have to, but I would love to have an alternative in case something goes wrong. The fulltone bassdrive had been close, but it's also big and it says fulltone on it. Plus the yellow and green will look gross with my pink Balls sustain, another plus.

I'll run it into a couple tube heads, a gk400rb and 800rb see what clicks

I've been watching a lot of videos on the Blumes and it seems really versatile and not just for bass. But I gotta say, I watched the EQ demo video for Blumes where the dude played one of my favorite Unwound songs through a P Bass into an Ampeg and I was sold, cuz that is a sound I've been chasing for half my life. Also didn't hurt that he played some Crimson, too. I ended up picking one up for $80. I mean, how could I pass that up? It appears worth eating my own words for.

Another damn $100 in cabling so I can a headphone amp going at the center of my tracking room, also need to get the TC Electronic 2000 set up in my reverb rack without a tripping hazard.

For planned cable buys, and not just like a spare xlr or whatever, I use Redco custom cable. I can get whatever I need for around $20 each, which adds up but is less than off the shelf guitar center prices at least.

I try to be careful with even small cable runs, but I guarantee you it doesn’t look like it. It’s time for a patch-bay but that’s just one more thing to learn and buy at this point, no thanks!

When you're ready, I have found the Neutrik TRS (1/4") patchbay to be handy and the learning curve was not steep. The TT (tiny telephone 1/8") are more commonly seen in pro facilities cause they fit way more ins and outs in a smaller footprint. The concept and function of both are identical (except most TTs you have to solder every connection in the back and TRS is just plug and play).

You can set your patchbay to what's called half normaled, which means you plug pairs into the back and the signal is passed through from top to bottom without plugging anything into the front. This way I have mic pres that are paired with inputs on my interface. I don't have to patch anything to start recording. But if I want to record through a compressor (or anything) I just need a pair of patch cables in the front to redirect traffic.

It's way more intuitive than initially appears and will make recording and mixing way easier with a $100 patchbay and $100 in 3' TRS cables.
