I couldn't not take this photo. I wanted to put them all on top of my 8x10, but my basement ceiling is too low by an inch.

I can see why people really like these things. They're lighter than an SVT. They seem to be built pretty well. They can get grindy if you crank the gain. Less midrange-forward than an SVT. Kinda neutral, takes pedals well. Loud AF.
Great job, Nate! What’s the going price for those Trace Elliot amps?
I still have my SVT II, but it’s such a backbreaker!

I've been wanting a nice acoustic for a while, so I picked up a Taylor Academy 10E yesterday. I chose it over some similarly priced Martin 000 models. The acoustic I did own, a Gretsch Jim Dandy, is fun to play on but won't turn any heads, tone wise.

Going into selecting, I was looking for the following in an acoustic:
- 00 or 000 sized model - I find dreadnoughts uncomfortable to play, and tend to sound more mellow than I like
- has a pickup or can be had for a deal good enough to not break my budget if I needed to get one installed
- at or under $1200
- doesn't look ugly

I compared it to some Martins (some more expensive than the Taylor, some cheaper) -- the 000's I played had a very beefy weird neck that I didn't jive with, and was about $300 more expensive. The Academy 10E is bright, percussive, dare I say chimey? There's a lot of nice little overtones that remind me a little bit of a 12 string a bit. The cutaway/carve thing at the top is a bit aesthetically weird but not bad, but it does make the guitar more comfortable to play. Can't wait to write a ton of songs on it.

My pic isn't great.

I recently bought a rat as well, I might’ve mentioned it here. I had the exact same reaction. How is this motherfucker so cheap? It’s perfect. It does exactly what I want it to do, doesn’t fuck around with other bullshit and you can either make it super trebly or super heavy and brutal with plenty of space in between those two. Works on single coils and hum-buckers, etc.

I bought a sunn life pedal version three, which is essentially a rat, a boost, and an octave, and I have slimmed my pedal board down now to the rat, the life pedal, a balls KWB distortion (h/t) and a delay, and that is pretty much everything I would need. Anything on top of that would be gravy.

I’ll change my mind tomorrow so beware.
