We all know about the BigShot, right?

Yes, it's passive. I've noticed signal losses when plugging a guitar straight in and then splitting. However, I've wondered if this is less of an issue if it's used after an always-on buffer. I've done passive splits after pedals with a good, always-on buffer; Klon circuit, Hotcake, maybe even Boss pedals. These pedal are always buffering the signal even when the effect is turned off. When I did this I had an old MXR noise gate/line driver. Even when off, the "line drive" aspect was still working.

Might be worth a try.

I found myself wanting the phase reverse all the time when using 2 amps. Ground can also be an issue and its nice to have the lift. certain pedals can flip phase too so having a switch is nice. The Radial BigShot is like $130 and does everything you need. Better to have it than need it.
Convinced! Thanks all - much appreciated.

Used to be you could buy a stereo chorus used for next to nothing, turn the chorus off (or on if you're fancy) and there you go
Yeah, I've used a TU-2 as an active splitter a lot of time. You just have one side that doesn't shut off if you actually want to tune.

Now I just kinds do all this stuff in a Helix or HX Stomp, but that's just what I have laying around. It has a polarity flip in the path splitter/merger. Super handy for running into two amps with opposing polarities.

That's nice. Younger me would've preferred than instead of wiring my one speaker cab out of phase and then forgetting.

I used to have a polarity flipping F to M speaker cable pigtail for stuff like this. I think it got left at an old studio???

Yep. I had a little hammond enclosure with 1/4" in and out and a DPDT on it just for A/B polarity. Just drop it in between the head and cab.

Preamble: I have some very basic synth experience with the monophonic Microbrute. I understand attack, decay, sustain, oscillator waveform (saw tooth, square wave etc).

Question: I've jumped into the polyphonic/ more complicated world with my newly acquired Sequential Take 5. My big challenge is understanding how to achieve stability with pitch/tuning. Both starting off with things in ordinary pitch (I got used to the tuning knob on the back of the Microbrute), but more challenging creating settings that are pitch stable.

As I've started exploring this badass little synth I've loved the presets on it, but know to master the many controls I need to craft my own sounds. When I start minimal and strip away layers of the signal chain, I sometimes arrive at sounds that shift pitch the longer you sustain a chord. It feels dumb to ask, but what is going on there? I can tweak until it goes away, but I get that weird mesmerized, stoner synth deep dive happening and I lose the science. I just suddenly emerge with a new sound that is also cool, and is pitch stable, and I don't even remember the last dozen tweaks I did that got me there.

How does one tune, and keep in tune various synthesizer patches?
Follow up question - how are you doing with the Take 5 and did you move passed that impasse? I've been enjoying this Pro3 so much, that I really think if someone doesn't have a NEED for 61 keys, and doesn't already have something else handling poly, that the Take 5 is likely the best damn thing that covers so much ground. I would've bought one in a second if I didn't have my other stuff

haven't found one that doesn't want you to monthly subscribe that actually works worth a fudge.

I think the one I have on there now is called GStrings and is ok I guess.
