I have four different versions of In Uteto 😂

Weirdly, I’m not actually a massive fan

Definitely the best era of shows are right after Dave joined but before Nevermind came out. This show in Leeds in particular is really great:

Aww, so great to see this out there. I saw them on this tour a few nights later at The Waterfront in Norwich, and can confirm that they were absolutely on fire. I remember Kurt played a sweet unaccompanied version of Polly (as I found out when the album hit the following year) before the whole band kicked into Blew to open the show. I got absolutely flattened in the pit by a member of L7...it was their final support show with them, and they stage-dived en masse towards the end of the set. She (no idea who) helped me to my feet and promptly went back for some more. Easily an all-time top five gig for me.

I talk disjointed music-related guff over here. You're welcome.

I have trouble summoning all of my thoughts on Nirvana in a way that would be (a) readable and (b) consistent with what I would type weeks later. It almost kind of hurts my brain to try to figure out what exactly I think of their music now. But that's not a slight.

One thing I can tell you, though, is that in the mid-nineties, when I first started playing in bands, circa high school, every time there was some kind of battle of the bands/city-wide rock showcase type thing, there were LOTS of Nirvana covers. Their influence was massive among young people who wanted to rock. I don't think any other band even came close.
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

This is adorable.

Heard "Territorial Pissings" the other day, thought "I bet that'd be fun to play all downstrokes". It is! I can only make it through a verse and a chorus before my arm falls off, but, you know, baby steps.

Kinda a big meh. I understand why they were important to people who never listened to non pop music before Nirvana since pop and radio rock of the era was fucking terrible. Being a freaky little skateboard kid in a tiny Arkansas town I was already listening to weird shit by the time nevermind was a radio hit so although I thought it was refreshing to hear something like this on the same radio station that would occasionally Garth Brooks, I wasnt wildly into it. It was fine. About 2 years ago I relistened to all of it and had the same reaction. It's fine... but nomeh. Glad it turned some norms into weirdos though. I don't think they were very good live from every piece of footage I've watched. Never saw it myself. For context I'm 46. They kinda hit right in my early highschool years and I was the prime audience but it fell like a damp feather to me.

7/10 for effort.
