803Jesus, I missed that in the listing originally.

804Same. I was just gaping out at the porn pics.
This one has the distortion circuit unlike the other 3 I have (long story) and have never heard anything about what that sounds like.

805I have two V4s left (after a high of 3 plus a VT-22), and one of them is like that. I tried the distortion circuit exactly once when I first got it...have used channel two exclusively.Garth wrote: Wed Feb 28, 2024 7:39 amSame. I was just gaping out at the porn pics.

806^ yup. I had a VT-22 with distortion and it’s almost comical how bad it sounded when you turned it on. Sounded great otherwise. The distortion vs non-distortion is a distinction not only because of the knob, but because the distortion models use a different transformer; I THINK it’s the PT with another tap for the grids or something?
Re: TRAYNORetcALERT- The "Look What's on Ebay" Thread
807After posting about the distortion channel I re-researched trying to find actual sound samples w/ no real luck. Mostly found forum posts that say "it's there. don't use it" in the same way the distortion is often maligned on the JC-120.
Also I'm just happy to be in good company not being the only one with a small horde of these monsters. Even not really playing guitar at all these days TBH if I could justify a 22-hour road trip, my number would be up to four and presumably at that point I would finally win.

808Who-aahhh, that V-4 is tempting. I am currently within "driving distance" but have to pour cold water on my head every hour on the hour. It's a beaut. If I hadn't pieced together a proper bass rig recently, and had a little more money to spare/a less cramped living space*, I'd pull the trigger.

810Great deal on a VT40 at my local shop, if anyone feels like driving to Toronto for an amp.
