Long-time no post. Just getting my home studio set back up after a long hiatus... unpacking 5 years worth of hoarding gear and getting stuff in place in order to actually start making music again... I'll post a more general update soon, but in the mean time, does anybody here have one of these old TEAC 2A mixer with the MB-20 Meter bridge with the integrated side panels, like the ones attached? I'm looking to make a tracing of them so I can make replicas for myself and anybody else that needs them. I have a 2A and an MB-20 but no panels or brackets to put them together... It's my understanding that the early ones had metal brackets that fit in the back to marry them... but by the late 70s they started offering these more ergonomic panels you see here:
I'm also open to buying your mixer if you have it and want to part with it.

IDK how it sounds but it's a top-tier candidate for the cutest mixer ever made.

Seems like a fabrication shop could knock a metal frame out pretty quickly if they are too rare to find an exact match.

That thing is adorable. I got my Teac 4 Track Reel to Reel working this weekend and I'm thinking about going through my Tascam 308 mixer to pair with it. I really like those ole Tascam/Teac mixers. I miss my 320b a lot.

looks like the outline of the side panels is basically the side profile of the mixer itself, plus about 1/2", excepting the area where it's flush. Maybe tinker with a couple radii and I bet you could get a routing template that's awful close. I'm not saying don't try and get an original if you can, mind you...

I could definitely bang one out from scratch, but I really would like to exhaust the route of making an EXACT replica... for both posterity, and myself. Plus having one of the panels in person would take me all of 10 minutes to use the router to make an exact template. Then I can mass-produce them. I do the same for the synth panels I make...

I think this here is one on ebay right now...that's ridiculously over-priced.

But could maybe message the seller if they'd do a trace for you for $20? Idk.

Ah, gotcha. I didn't know you had a whole thing going with side panels. You have a reverb shop?

Yeah, I've thought of the same thing... I might resort to that... Was hoping to maybe find a friend with one first.

I just have the Tronogrpahic Reverb Shop atm. I some random stuff up there right now... but it would be cool to add these panels to the other synth panels I make.
