I don’t know about Callaham, but standard Fender/Ping Kluson-style tuners will fit your existing ferrules but you’ll have to drill new holes for the mounting screws. The Kluson Revolution F style will fit your screw mounting holes but will need the headstock reamed to fit the new ferrules because the tuners won’t fit through the old ones.

It’s lose-lose for modern tuners retrofitting to a vintage Fender neck that came with the parallelogram F tuners.

Advantages: It's not rat fur, it has casters already, it doesn't look like the usual ugly AF combo mods, but most importantly it's cheap as chips. Try it out w/ speakers you already have & see if it's a good fit,. You're not out much if it ain't.
Disadvantages: open back is not going to give you that "tight, focused" sound you might be used to hearing with your 4x12s as those are almost always sealed.

These sorts of things pop up on local CLs/FBMktPlatz alla time from folks looking to get a couple bucks instead of chucking to the curb on odd-size trash day.

Jesus. Someone went to town on that. In this case it might be good news that installing traditional style like you originally posted won’t meet stripped out screw holes (none of the holes match). The bad news is someone has clearly already reamed those tuner shaft holes so who knows what bushings will fit. Do you have a top pic?

You could just get a bunch of toothpicks and wood glue and start over. This would be ugly as sin but mechanically sound.

For sure, here it is One of the bushings fell out recently. I think its in my parts closet but I’ll have to look for it.

Maybe these tuners would also work?. $12 per tuner stings a little more on a gamble, but I can just buy one and see what happens.

Yeah, I don’t even care about the cosmetics, but ofc tuners have to work well. I had this cheap vintage mustang neck in my closet for years and started to put together a jag around it, then realized how expensive those guitars are and put it down for a couple years. If this is the worse trouble I have with the neck I’ll be doing ok.

If it’s that bad maybe I’ll get a fat ass Warmoth neck but that’s a last resort

Those actually look like they might be the original ferrules. So it’s possible the holes haven’t been reamed. Fender had Gotoh making their reissue tuners forever and I think those work great. I’d probably gamble on these and just add another set of mounting screw holes since so many of the previous look bored out a little anyway.

M88 talk got me thinking about the Sennheiser 441 - are all models basically the same?

I might be able to swing one next month and I want an idea of what to look out for, with resale value being maybe the biggest factor.

I can’t imagine buying a new one but would be willing to order one from Europe if it saved a bunch of money.

I've never heard talk of a difference between any eras or models of these things, not like the SM7 vs. SM7A vs. SM7B rabbit hole that I just went back down this afternoon. The II vs. U suffix is just Tuchel vs. XLR connector.
