Looked at a list of djent bands on Wiki (maybe not a good point of departure) and Meshuggah was the only name I recognized. Don't think I've heard them though.

Another band name stood out: The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. Since I've been tarred and feathered as a "dad" here, and own an Alpha Omega, on first blush this group might be the most suitable to my interests. Who's the boss? My killer bass tone, that's who!
yeah, great pedal. there's nothing compressed or scooped about that sound.
too bad it ruined djent though.....

Honestly, every time I see the word "djent" it reads like a made-up genre, like when Longmont Potion Castle talked about "the Montoyan-Artesian connection."

The blend knob is key on that thing. Into a amp head that also has a blend for a differently voiced overdrive, a good number of possibilities are at hand.

This must have been a loud show, maybe so loud it rattled the teeth of those in the first several rows.

If toothaches persist, I hope these people visit the djentist.
Those lights are nuts. They probably had to start the show with a warning like "ladies and djentlemen, if you're prone to seizures..."

If you have not tried the Nobels ODR-1, you should. Its designer built the circuit to sound like his cranked tweed bassman. The pedal does not have a large amount of gain, but is very full sounding. It captures the thickness a good amp like the bassman will produce when played loud enough to compress. The tone control is also more thought out than a typical tubescreamer or the like. It actually boosts or cuts multiple frequency bands all in one knob.

The pedal is available in the original full size box, or a mini pedal. I suggest buy the full size one, and run it at 18 volts. Not all pedals benefit from higher voltages, but the ODR-1 does very clearly. This is the best low gain boost/overdrive pedal on the market for the money, maybe period.

I’ve got a first run Hotcake with the mid boost switch rather than dial. Love it.

I had one of their Red Llama clones and it was pretty killer. Desperately needs a tone or high cut pot for my guitars/setup though.
