If you like NAM, a company is making an amp pedal that can load NAM files.

The Simplifier got a huge update. I really regret not getting one of these. It's truly an analog response to samp sims and this one just takes it even further. I love that it has a separate switch pedal. There was an interesting suggestion in a video about it to strap it to the bottom of your pedal board, stash it away and just have the stomp box on top.

Man, not even half way through 2024 and we're already getting amazing shit.

I got a Walrus Audio ACS1 s/hand and love it. It's the first guitar amp Sim pedal or vst that I've actually been properly impressed with. Takes pedals well, actually sounds like a real amp, and has a headphone output for quick practice. I keep it on a mini board going into a scarlett interface. Updated the ir's with York Audio ones and it got even better sounding. I record everything through it at home now. 100% improved my recordings.

I'm still using a mix of vst and tech 21 preamps for bass, but really tempted to try find a bass equivalent of the ACS1. Fully signed up to the amp sim and ir, space-saving, home recording dream.

You can find reference to some good bass amp pedals in this thread, for sure. Check out that Tonex One pedal to start. It'll be coming out in June, but for $180 you can get a lot of options with it. The Tonex library does have bass amp captures, and the One comes with a copy of Tonex SE.

Amp sims have gotten undeniably good. The Neural Morgan Amp sims were on sale for $40 the other day and I got that package. They sound great in a recording. If you turn off the speaker sim, reamp them into a speaker through a power amp and record them with a mic my guess is no tone lawyer could ever possibly tell it was a fake amp. In plugin land it also gives you the option of crushing the hell out of one amp with another amp for super crazy fuzz tones.

I can attest to the Morgan. I downloaded it a few months ago and really liked it, probably my favorite software guitar amp that I tried. Definitely picked that up on the sale!

It's now top of the list. Need to look a bit more but it might be ideal.

I preordered one. I am not sure how I'd use it yet, but seems like a really great utility pedal, because you can do amp and pedal captures with it. I'm thinking I might put some OD pedals on it and free up some space on my board.
