The hot dog crawl was a standout, and maybe I missed it, but I don't think anyone mentioned it yet here.
OMG, that was so much fun, even if it was painful. By the time we got to Duck's, Rich was still dead set on eating a whole hot dog at each place. He was choking the Duck Dog down and I remember him grumbling, "This tastes like dishwater."

Not everyone made it the whole way. I can't remember the place we went to on Montrose, but they only made veggie dogs on whole wheat buns. As we moved from there to Murphy's, my stomach started to grumble. I had to take the biggest shit and I was holding it in while trying to pedal the bike. I let loose in Murphy's before enjoying a great char dog.

EDIT: Thinking about this further, I think it was Turnbullac who offered to pay for all the dogs if Rich ate them (or some equally ridiculous challenge), and I'm pretty sure I egged him on. Either way, Rich ate 10 hot dogs and was the hero we didn't know we needed!

In the last days of the Terri Schiavo case the old PRF had this huge thread about euthanasia: lots of serious opinions on the subject, lots of heated exchanges.

Quite a few pages into the thread some PRFer (I can't remember who) posted a link: the photo of the poor woman lying in her hospital bed in a vegetative state, her eyes wide open and seemingly oblivious to the world. The caption to the link read "TERRI SCHIAVO LIVE WEBCAM".

I clicked on the picture and it turned out it was just a jpeg.

I remember feeling guilty and despising myself for laughing to tears, but o my god did I laugh.

I still get uncontrollable chuckles from remembering that thread, even though I can only remember half of the poem you put in the initial post, FM Steve’s only response being “Oh fuck off this is stupid”, and someone posting the Led Zeppelin Zoso logo. Salut!
Haha yeah that was my thread (as Boombats) but I don’t remember the poem. I forgot about the ZOSO post but that’s cracking me up now.

The whole thing’s great, but I’ve already spent 15 minutes wrestling with my phone to paste these quotes in a correct manner.
It's in there, Sparks, you just have to know to search for squirrel+circuit:

Okay, I'm on a Rush tear. I'll relate a story.

In 1980-something, Big Black played a show in San Francisco, at the I Beam. The opening band was a band I'd never heard of, Jane's Addiction. I learned that the group's singer was Perry Farrell, whose previous band, Psi Com, I had hated outright. I did not look forward to their set.

After their set, the singer asked me what I thought of it. I said, "I've never actually heard Rush, but that's what I always imagined they sounded like."

He left me alone after that.

I can’t find it but the thread Marsup started about his boots was hilarious. He’d posted a pic of these ludicrous boots he’d bought and the reaction was less than kind. He changed the thread title to something like “Mean Spirited Thread about my Boots” 😂 The responses quickly degenerated into a fractal of tangents.
