Hi. I've been lurking and sporadically posting for the past couple of months. You have a really nice board. The threads are witty, funny, and most of all informative. However, what I haven't been able to find are any threads/lists in regard to current underground rock/noise-rock bands operating in the vein of imprints such as Touch and Go, Amphetamine Reptile, Skin Graft, etc., etc. I like to be kept abreast of new shit-rock sounds.
One album that I've been enjoying has been Todd's Purity Pledge. I also like the self-titled Functional Blackouts release from last year. What are some other current bands making obnoxious, sloppy, noisy, migraine-inducing rock?
Thanks.

2Sightings used to. They've mellowed a bit.
Oneida can get the noise going in a very Kraut-rock kind of way.
Unicorn Hard-On is the shit.
Lightning Bolt.
Actually, most of the Load Records catalog would fit this.

3Thanks, Dragon. I know a bit of the Load catalog: Lightning Bolt, Hella, Pink and Brown, Mindflayer, and such. I've got a real hard jones for that swirling nasty feedback wall-of-sound riding on top of...ah, what the hell, COWS. I'm looking for Cows soundalikes.

I don't think they're very good.

6I picked up Sightings Arrived in Gold and the Magik Markers I Trust My Guitar etc. . The Sightings release is pretty trashy. I'm not too sure how I'm feeling on the Magik Markers. All signs point to no.

I think you might like earlier sightings like the self titled one or Absolutes a bit more.
Extremely trashy and very abrasive noise rock.

8disclosure:
I work for these boys, but I looooooove volcano!.
they've got a record coming out in October on the Leaf Label and it sounds spectacular. Not total noise, but def. odd as fuck. There are some mp3's to tide over until it hits as well as a video of their live show when they played with Deerhoof. That show ruled.
enjoy!
