My whole family (we're talking Catholic here) migrated from Toronto to live in Detroit.
They all still live there. They all have nice houses, lots of kids, and none of them have ever had their cars stolen.

I wil be going to Detroit in the fall to a wedding of a cousin.

I will proceed WITHOUT FEAR.

canadian, huh? that explains everything. my friend jeff is from canada, vancouver to be exact. he relocated to madison and got a new group of guys together to jam out with. he writes good songs and sings well and plays well too. thanks rachael, for the ammo.

love, Vance Prancer.

ps. you dont have to swear so much. like the "stick in the ass" or the "fuck you vances (sic)" and all. i hope you dont communicate like that with the baby around. that is all in the Post-script

Detroit is a classic city and you should certainly visit!! A bad experience from a day or two just doesn’t pull it off as a liable source - to give such a harsh interpretation of the city. It boils down to; your bad experience in passing doesn’t prove much other than a lousy “first impressionâ€

Sand dunes are truly beautiful/fun to hike this time of year and Lake Michigan’s waves can get pretty intense…I swear you could surf in the lake on certain windy days... Personal favorite here, try the pasties (like a potpie) and malts – CANNOT get them anywhere better than the Upper Peninsula. Rare and special treat!!

I would like to second this statement. Born in Detroit, but raised in the UP, pasties are unparalleled. And they're not the same anywhere else.

We moved to south Florida from the UP, and there just happened to be former resident like ourselves, who had set up a pasty shop. Just not the same, but umm. Yummy.

And the country side is beautiful. Crystal Lake is one of my favorite places to go in Michigan.

Glad to convey more realistic suggestions on the Detroit surroundings. Also, good to hear that the Detroit blog website was of assistance… it is brilliant to say the very least. (Indeed... TRY the pasties and malt if able, you won't be sorry.)
