Really not sure if he’ll go to jail. My understanding is that it’s uncommon for offenses such as these. But I’d also imagine that the massive loss in the unrelated civil fraud case might impact the sentencing hearing.
I wonder what the history of this judges sentences are wrt crimes such as these.
Not sure but personally threatening the judge and his family probably has not given the judge a reason to be lenient.

EDIT: well, the Republican presumptive nominee and former president of the USA is now a convicted felon and sex offender.

Ha. Yeah, I heard that too. He even said the jury (that his own lawyers chose, too) was rigged. Hilarious.

Isn't it.

Gramsci wrote: Sat May 18, 2024 4:15 am I think this is partially Starmer’s problem. I think he’s actually a lot more left wing than the Milktoast policy platform he’s presenting. But he’s terrified of the Daily Mail and the Sun.
Starmer doesn't have a leftwing bone in his body. He's a power hungry narcissist who will do whatever his paymasters want him to.
You’re probably right, unfortunately. I try and stay optimistic. I quit the party after the way they treated Corbyn, who’s my local MP.

I quit soon after Starmer got in. I saw where it was going when he sacked Rebecca Long-Bailey, though his actions have been worse than anything I suspected.

That didn't stop them begging for donations for years to come, only stopped when I raised a complaint.

Starmer has turned the Labour Party into an actively antisemitic organisation. Jews and the state of Israel are constantly conflated, and record numbers of left wing Jews have been kicked out or just told to leave -another reason for me to stay gone - that's to say nothing of their racism, islamophobia etc etc.

Until the Tories mutate into their inevitable next stage - The Reform Party with better funding- you can barely get a rizla between them. Fucking grim.

All this verdict is going to do is define him as a convicted criminal. The punishment will be next-to-nothing for him. Those who hate him will just find another descriptive title for him, those who love him will take the conviction as a badge of pride, and those in the middle are dolts who haven't paid attention to anything, and this is probably the crowd that it will influence, if at all.

I'm so shocked to see the obsequious cries of injustice from craven Trump sycophants. I really hope Dong Jr can relieve his stress with an African trophy hunt. Human waste, the fucking lot...

The Workers Party manifesto looks really good. I've not finished reading it but have yet to find anything to disagree with. It's exactly where Labour should be.

Gorgeous George is a charlatan and a scumbag. Don’t get suckered into his performative leftism. Just watch his Novara interview to see how much of an opportunistic piece of shit he is.

If you’re looking for a new home the Greens are a sane option.

Corbyn is my local MP, I’ll be voting for him. There’s a good reason Jezza told George to fuck off.
