Nah, just Canadian. (Mostly hang out here & OSG.)

The Count to Five rules, has been on my board since 2015. Does pretty stuff & dumb noise equally well. Have a couple of other Montreal Assembly pedals (the long-forgotten Wrong Side of Uranus bitcrusher/etc. and the PURPLL), all excellent. Really cool company. I've got a Chase Bliss Onward on the way that might bump it, but realistically I'll just figure out a way to wedge 'em both in.

I feel like an asshole for genuinely digging $300 pedals or whatever but I really, really like the FLWR. Kind of bad at describing tone (so warm! so punchy), but: my base tone is getting cleaner as I get old, the Benson Preamp is always on & I've been using the 29 as a second gain stage-- not for a ton of added grit but it just sounds/feels big and loud at any volume. Kind of grasping here but at least in the way I'm using it, it's a fairly transparent, fairly low gain overdrive that feels like a Big Muff. I haven't come across a lot of pedals like it.

Subbing out the Plumes for the Talons last night at band practice and with the tone rolled down almost to zero, in mode 1 it seems to give my guitar a better presence than the Talons. Crazy how some songs, or some chords work better with one overdrive and the other visa versa. I was just about to splurge on my 4th overdrive with the recommended JHS Angry Charlie (still tempting) but I'm going to keep the gear lust at bay.

Two things have been clear for a while that I need to address:

1: Those barefoot button things seem brilliant. I need one on the button for my overdrive as it's my number one most stomped pedal. Ordered.

2: What the hell do you guys do for accidentally bumped knobs?I've seen people cut out foam to surround them and keep them from moving. Not very elegant but I might need to try it. As I sing and play guitar, sometimes doing the dreaded two pedal/two foot transition I bump knobs and especially on the primary overdrive this can make the guitar start to disappear. Any other inventions or hacks to keep those smooth rolling knobs from spontaneously leaving their preferred setting?

Google D’addario LokNob as a potential solution.

I stumbled upon that. It looks promising, but it only had one review and it was 'crap'. Have you tried it?

I might try the rubber washer trick and see if that does it. I don't even need to lock anything, just make it take more force to turn some knobs that are close to my toes.

My board uses a technique FM Ben Adrian posted on the PRF ages ago where you use bike chain links instead of velcro. Cheap, fun, level one afternoon project, cost under $15 for the wood & screws, took less than an hour to put together.

Goes: Guitar -> Nux strobe tuner -> Big Muff π fuzz -> DeArmond Weeper wah -> Caline Reflector tremolo -> Biyang AD-8 delay -> Anasounds Element spring reverb (I'm using a Folded Line tank rather than an Accutronics as it has more sh-sh-sh-sh-shimmer) -> Amp

The Muff and the wah aren't mounted because screw spacing wouldn't work and that's fine; it allows for quick swap-outs.

They’re kind of expensive but could be worth it.

I protect my knobs by not dragging a cable over them. I can’t remember the last time anything got janked out of place.

Eventually all pedals will have touch screens or holograms or something and this won’t be an issue.
