Your Honor, originally on Showtime, now on Netflix.

I watched the first episode, and I don't know if I can recommend it, but I will say that I'm definitely watching the second. I think I can tell what one of the plot points is going to be, but I guess I'll find out for sure.
It turns into a pretty disappointing and underwhelming series from what I remember. COVID hit production but I think it was badly written. The only good thing was Michael Stuhlbarg's performance.

You're better watching The Night Of, which was adapted from the same author's material but much more competently (or maybe the material was just better). Along with being a good mystery thriller, it takes a kind of Wire-style view of the justice system in America and how it brutalises people and is set up to convict them. John Turturro's the co-lead (along with Riz Ahmed) and his performance is one of his best.

It's fucking stellar. I wish everyone could see it.

Me and my housemate watched the first two episodes of Scavenger's Reign last night and we're all in. Can't wait to continue it.
