All you haters have forced me to re-examine my own relationship with Dresden Dolls, so I’ve been listening to them a bunch. I think I’ve moved from “respectfully not my thing” to genuinely enjoying the music in smaller chunks. It’s kinda Tori Amos for goths, sure, and maybe also some Queen inspiration there. There’s a limit to how much I can relate to Palmer’s subject matter, but I get why people are super-fans. Brian Viglione is a fantastic drummer who kept getting better as the band progressed. I think he was playing with Violent Femmes for a while.

Bush - Razorblade Suitcase... Surprising good... I never really listened to at the time but Greedy Fly popped up on the Abini Apple Music compilation the guy from Born that Guy did... I liked that song so gave the album a try. A lot noisier and harsher than I was expecting.

Gotta be one of my favourite songs.
